In ELA, students will read and discuss the novel, "The Graveyard Book."  Students will use strategies to make inferences, analyze how the author develops point of view, and identify figurative language.  In addition, students will take Unit 3 Pretest.  Homework this week will be accessed via Google Classroom.  The story is Alice in Wonderland, and I am asking that parents please ensure that their child has completed this assignment.  The skills on this assignment is one that students are struggling with, so it is very important that they complete it.  Also, students were supposed to complete two articles assigned via Newsela via Google Classroom.  If they have not completed it, please make sure that they have it done it.

This week in science, we will begin our new unit on characteristics of living things.  We will study various ecosystems and classify the abiotic and biotic organisms in each and how they interact to create a healthy ecosystem. Students will take a pretest over the unit on Monday.  Homework will given on Thursday and due Friday.

Social Studies:

In Social Studies this week, we are continuing our exploration of Ancient India.  The students are looking at the areas of geography, government, social groups, and culture (language, religion, home life).  There will be homework assigned on Monday and Wednesday.
